Evans & James were appointed to undertake a condition survey and planned preventative maintenance plan for the Clubhouse at Sherwood Forest Golf Club in Mansfield. The course is one of the oldest and finest heathland golf courses in Great Britain and is rated the 84th best course in the British Isles. The course was designed by Harry Colt and later enhanced by James Braid.

Whilst the building is not listed, the original parts of the Clubhouse date to 1912 providing the men’s locker room, bar, mixed lounge and ladies’ room. The ladies’ locker room was located in an adjacent six sided building which has since been removed. The main elements of the Clubhouse form part of the footprint of the Clubhouse as it stands today.
Evans & James undertook the condition inspection in Summer 2025, developing a detailed condition report for the building. Alongside this, a ten year planned preventative maintenance plan was developed with cost estimates for execution of the recommended works.
